Congratulations to the Sixth Form Classes of 2022
Success for our Sixth Formers
Our sixth form students have done us proud with their fantastic A Level and Vocational results this year.
In the run up to the sixth form results day , we've all been reading and hearing about Key Stage 5 grades being lower than the 2021 and 2020 teacher assessed grades. Our students have finally had the opportunity to sit 'normal' exams and it's been a difficult situation to predict.
We are pleased to say that students across our three sixth forms at Haberdashers' Crayford Academy, Haberdashers' Knights Academy and Haberdashers' Hatcham College have done exceedingly well in both A Level and vocational results.
At Hatcham, our flagship school, an impressive 25% of all grades were A*-A, and almost 50% were A*-B. A Hatcham student also secured her Oxbridge place - Lucy B will be reading English at St Catherine's College, University of Cambridge, and three students, Jessica A-B, Aminah N and Zakariya N have secured places on medicine or medicine related courses.
55% of Hatcham students have secured their first choice place at university, 19% of those at Russell Group universities.
At Knights Academy, 57% of students achieved a grade A*-C at A Level and retained their record of of excellent results in vocational courses with 84% of pupils achieving a minimum grade of a Distinction. This includes the highest possible grades of D*D*D* for students in Applied Science, Business Studies, Health & Social Care and in Sports.
Amongst the pupil highlights at Knights were Illan M achieving AAB; Jessy K achieving A*BB; Lenny A (a pupil who has been with us right through since Knights Primary) achieving A*BB and who will be taking a gap year before furthering his studies in PPE; Richard B (Headboy) achieving AAB and earning a place at Manchester to study Politics and German and Iris P-C (Headgirl) achieving ABC earning a place at Edinburgh to study Politics and Italian. A number of other students also earned places at Russell Group universities, including Ikran M who achieved D*D*D and earned a place to study Biological Sciences at Queen Mary; Sruthika S who achieved D*D*D* and earned a place studying Nursing at Kings College and Glory B who achieved D*D*D and earned a place to study Business Management at Queen Mary University, London.
This year’s results from our sixth formers have given us much to be proud of. Our students have come out of the difficulties of the last couple of years in a strong position. I have no doubt their determination and hard work will continue to serve them well and I wish them all the best for the future as they leave us and take their next steps.

Our Crayford Academy sixth form, the number of students who achieved the top grades was significantly higher than in previous years. The percentage of students achieving A*-B at A-level rose by 11% whilst the average grade for applied subjects was a Distinction. We are extremely proud of the work the students put in to achieve these results. Despite the challenges of school disruptions during the last two years students have performed brilliantly and secured some very impressive destinations including a large number of Russell Group Universities.
Individual successes include Sara and Lilly, Crayford's highest achievers, who both received 2 A’s and 2 B’s and are going to study Finance, Investment and Risk at The London Institute of Banking & Finance and History at University of York respectively; Jarred who did fantastically well with a Distinction*, an A and a C grade and has secured employment; Ella-Mae who excelled in Art gaining an A*, plus an A, a B and a D in her other subjects. She will be heading off to University of Reading to study Psychology with Professional Placement, and Girvun who achieved 2 C’s and a D and is going on to University of Kent to study Astronomy, Space Science and Astrophysics.
There were many more success stories across our schools and we are confident that all of our students move on well-equipped for the next stage in their lives.
