This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for an ambitious and inspirational leader to shape the future of sport at Knights Academy and establish a culture of excellence, participation, ambition and pride across our school community. Knights Academy is a school with enormous potential. We are proud of our students, our community and the direction of travel of the Academy. As part of our next stage of improvement, we are determined to ensure that sport, physical education and enrichment become a defining strength of the Academy and a beacon within Lewisham and beyond.
We are fortunate to benefit from exceptional facilities, including a 3G Astro, three MUGA 5-a-side pitches, a large sports hall, dance studio, fitness gym and extensive field space with athletics provision. In addition, 10% of our admissions are allocated to students with sporting aptitude, providing a unique opportunity to build a truly exceptional sporting culture and pathway for young people.
We are seeking a leader with vision, drive and creativity; someone who can inspire students and staff alike, establish high standards and develop a sporting programme that increases participation whilst also driving excellence and competitive success. The successful candidate will build strategic partnerships, strengthen enrichment opportunities and develop a sporting identity that becomes synonymous with Knights Academy.
This role is intentionally designed as a Director position rather than a traditional Head of Department role. We want to attract an exceptional candidate who can think beyond curriculum delivery and lead a whole-school sporting vision
We will review applications as they are received and reserve the right to close this job advert early if the position is filled. Therefore, we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. This post falls within the scope of regulated activity. Appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS with list checks (and other relevant checks).
