20 Years of Haberdashers’ Academies Trust South: A Celebration of Progress, People and Purpose
This September marks 20 years since the founding of Haberdashers’ Academies Trust South — a moment of pride, reflection and inspiration.
Founded in 2005, our Trust began with the unification of Hatcham College and Knights Academy. But our roots stretch back centuries to the founding vision of the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers and Robert Aske’s legacy — one that sought to open educational doors to every child, regardless of background.
Since then, we have grown into a family of nine schools, serving communities across South East London. Our journey has been one of collaboration, courage and care — led by a belief that education can transform lives and shape society for the better.
To mark this anniversary, we’ll be hosting events and opportunities across the academic year, including:
- 20 for 20 Kindness Challenge – where pupils will complete 20 acts of kindness to celebrate our values in action.
- 20 Years, 20 Voices – a spotlight on the stories of our incredible staff from across the Trust.
- A Trust-wide Time Capsule Project – capturing life in 2025 for future generations.
- A Summer Festival in July 2026 – bringing together our whole community in celebration.
This is more than an anniversary — it’s a reaffirmation of who we are and why we exist. It’s a chance to say thank you to the people who make our Trust what it is. And it’s an opportunity to look ahead with optimism, ambition and belief.
To every pupil, parent, staff member and partner who has walked with us — thank you. Here's to the next chapter. Together, Stronger.
