About the role
The role requires supervising pupils during the lunchtime period at Haberdashers Hatcham College. The post holder ensures a safe, calm, and positive environment in dining areas and outdoor spaces. Pupils receive clear guidance on behaviour and routines, with expectations reinforced consistently to support wellbeing and good conduct. The role contributes to a strong whole school culture focused on respect, safety, and positive social interaction.
The role involves active supervision, engagement with pupils, and early intervention to resolve minor issues. The post holder works closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support behaviour expectations and safeguarding procedures. Support is provided for pupils who need guidance during lunchtime, including transitions between activities and return to lessons. The post holder upholds the values, policies, and professional standards of Haberdashers Hatcham College at all times.
Key responsibilities include
• Supervising pupils during lunchtime in dining halls and outdoor areas
• Promoting positive behaviour and respectful conduct
• Supporting pupils with routines and transitions
• Managing minor incidents and reporting concerns to senior staff
• Encouraging safe play and social interaction
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed
• Supporting pupils with additional needs where required
• Maintaining clear communication with staff and pupils
• Upholding safeguarding and school policiesReporting
This role will be reporting to the Head of School
